Next Meeting Sept. 21st, Coffee Shop NE

Image credit: Ryan Ball, Powderhorn Empty Bowls
We've gathered a tremendous amount of good news in just the past few weeks: 325 pots of our 500 goal are committed so far, Eastside NS's will host our event December 14th, Edison High's fine arts department is on board (where we hope to bring in guest artists and related activities), Continental Clay has offered a generous discount on material needed, neighborhood restaurants like Hazel's NE are lending their support, and yet...

We need to formalize our structure, to visualize and coordinate the event itself. How could musicians, actors, poets, and artists from every discipline enhance our effort? Should there be a silent auction? What peripheral events can we slate; local glazing or throwing days, bread-making, kids visits to local studios and gardens..? Our next meeting will be Saturday, Sept. 21st from 4-5:30, returning to the warm confines of the Coffee Shop NE. Directions here.

American Pottery Festival: Northern Clay Center, Sept. 13-15, 2013

A friend recently said that she finds four-leaf clovers nearly every time she takes the time to look. A similar confluence of intention and good fortune seems to be accompanying our Empty Bowls NE project, like this well-timed event at Northern Clay Center. Details here.

First Thursdays in the Northeast Arts District

Nice to meet so many interested, committed people tonight at First Thursdays in the Northeast Arts District. Just a reminder that you're all welcome to our 2nd Empty Bowls NE meetup this Saturday, 5pm at 3022 Buchanan Street NE. It's an informal hot dog roast so bring your enthusiasm and anything you'd care to cook on a stick. We'll gather more good news as we move towards Northeast's 1st Empty Bowls, December 14th at Eastside Neighborhood Services.
